Yuri was born in San Antonio, Texas, but grew up in Miami, Florida. While attending Florida State University on an academic scholarship, he made a promise to his grandfather, who had undergone open-heart surgery: if anything happened to him, Yuri would look after his grandmother. True to his word, he moved to McAllen, Texas, in 2000 after graduating. He then went on to attend South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.

Yuri began his legal career as an associate attorney at Griffith & Garza LLP, where he worked alongside the current managing partner of GLG. Over the past two decades, Yuri has built a comprehensive practice in insurance defense, handling a wide range of cases, including complex construction and commercial litigation, premises liability, personal injury, and family law. While the majority of his cases have been resolved without trial, Yuri has successfully tried several cases as either first or second chair, securing defense verdicts in every instance.

Today, Yuri returns to GLG, where his litigation career began. He is licensed to practice law throughout Texas.
